Celebrating Irish American Heritage Month, the annual Irish Flag Raising Exercise will take place on Saturday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m. Holyoke City Hall. The ceremony is presented by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, James A. Curran, Division One and The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division Two of Hampden /Hampshire Counties. We hope all members and friends will attend our annual event that kicks off a great cultural season. The U. S. Congress designated March as Irish American Heritage Month in 1991 to recognize contributions Irish Americans have made to the country.  See attached Press Release.

LAOH will be preparing PB&J sandwiches for Kate's Kitchen on Saturday, March 8th at 10am.  All are welcomed – 25 Roland Street, Holyoke.  Contact Rosalie Pratt at 413.532.1677 if you have questions.

DALEY & HALLIGAN:  Dominic Daley & James Halligan, two Irishmen condemned and hung for a murder they didn't commit (1806).  The annual wreath laying ceremony will be held at the monument, 1030am, Monday March 17th, Hospital Hill off West Street in Northampton.  AOH/LAOH members are encouraged to attend.  Read more about the monument and the trial for this tragic event.

The 2024 LAOH quilt drawing was held on Saturday, May 11th at Mitchell's Public House, Holyoke.  Thank you to all who supported our fundraiser.  Proceeds go towards the Maurice A. Donahue Memorial Scholarship.  The winner was Denise Fitzell of South Hadley see attached photo and thank you letter.

Thanks to those that marched with us at the Holyoke St Patrick's Day parade.  It was a fun time!  No rain for the Hibernians, 'tis a blessing.

The LAOH State Board officers were voted-in at the State Convention on Saturday,  May 6th.  Congrats to our Barbara Twohig (State President) and Noranne Duquette (State Vice President).  We are so proud of you!!!!
